# Creating a confidential job posting

Some clients use confidential job postings to recruit candidates for positions that are currently filled.

### How do I set a Confidential Account Name?

Before you can post a confidential job, you need to set your company's Confidential Account Name in CareerPlug.

1\. Navigate to **Settings (gear icon) \> My Organization \> Company Profile**.

2\. Scroll down and enter your company's **Confidential Account Name** in the available field.

This name should be specific to the industry of your company but not include your company name. For example, you might use a name like “Boutique Clothing Store,” “Fast Food Franchise,” or “National Insurance Company.” Do not use a name as generic as “Generic Company.”

3\. Click the **Save** button at the bottom of the page.

### How do I post a confidential job?

1\. Navigate to your **Jobs** page.

2\. Click the **+ New Job** button in the upper right corner of your Jobs page.

3\. Choose whether to use a **Job from Template** or create a **Job from Scratch** from the drop-down menu.

4. [Configure your job posting](https://adpsupport.careerplug.com/posting-a-job?hsLang=en) as you would for any new job.

5\. When you reach the Select posting status pop-up, click the **Advanced Settings** link in the lower-left corner.

6\. Turn on the **Make this job confidential** toggle.

7\. Click the **Post Job** button.

Your company name will not be visible on a confidential job posting. A confidential job will not appear on any of your company's careers pages, and its visibility in organic job feeds may be impacted (*see below*).

### Do confidential jobs appear on job boards?

Policies regarding confidential jobs differ by job board.

- **LinkedIn:** As a policy, LinkedIn does not accept confidential jobs.
- **Indeed:** Confidential jobs will only show up on Indeed [if the job is also sponsored](https://support.careerplug.com/sponsoring-jobs-on-indeed?hsLang=en).
- **ZipRecruiter + other major job boards:** Confidential jobs should appear on ZipRecruiter and most other major job boards, listed under [the Confidential Account Name set for your account](https://support.careerplug.com/creating-a-confidential-job-posting?hsLang=en#set).

Some job boards still show a company address on confidential job postings. To ensure no company information is visible, remove any information in the **Street Address**, **City**, **State**, and **ZIP Code** fields on your **Company Profile** page and click the **Save** button. This will impact your other jobs, so we recommend setting a reminder to add this information back to your CareerPlug account once you finish hiring for your confidential job.

#### Can I sponsor a confidential job so it appears on Indeed?

[To sponsor a confidential job](https://support.careerplug.com/sponsoring-jobs-on-indeed?hsLang=en), you cannot click the Start Sponsoring link in CareerPlug like you would with a normally-posted job. **You must contact Indeed directly to sponsor the job.**

### How do I promote a confidential job?

We recommend [sharing confidential jobs via email or on social media](https://adpsupport.careerplug.com/sharing-your-job-on-external-sources?hsLang=en).

1\. Navigate to your **Jobs** page.

2\. Click the **three-dots icon** to the right of the job you want to share and select **Share** from the drop-down menu.

3\. Either click the icon for the [social media](https://adpsupport.careerplug.com/sharing-your-job-on-external-sources#social) platform where you'd like to share your job or the **Send Email** link to [share your job via email](https://adpsupport.careerplug.com/sharing-your-job-on-external-sources#email).
