# Sales tax on your CareerPlug subscription
As a result of the Supreme Court ruling in the case of “South Dakota vs. Wayfair Inc.,” and the subsequent changes in taxation rules that allow states to tax remote sales, CareerPlug began collecting sales tax for US-based clients — where required by state law — as of February 1, 2020.
#### **CareerPlug currently collects sales tax in the following states:**
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Colorado (some regions, but not all)
- Connecticut
- Hawaii
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- New York
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Utah
- Washington
- West Virginia
